My name is
Peter Kandela. I am a general practitioner and a medical writer.
Although I am in full-time practice I have published more than 2,500
articles since l976. I write regularly for The Lancet and my
articles have appeared in JAMA and the BMJ, as well as
newspapers and periodicals such as The Guardian, New Statesman,
The Economist, and Vogue.
The journalism side of my writing has encompassed everything from
broadsheet style news stories and conference reports to dispatches from
far-flung countries and discursive features on topics such as human
rights in the Middle East and restructuring health-care systems in Latin
America. Some examples of my work can be found under the medical,
feature, and conference report sections.
The other side of my freelance writing is to turn original clinical
research into articles. If you have completed your research and
assembled your ideas, sometimes it can be difficult to complete the
paper. This kind of writer's block is very common. After all, effective
writing requires skills and experience which busy doctors do not usually
have time to acquire.
When you submit your work for publication, it needs to be interesting
and original of course, but it also needs to be clear and concise, well
structured, and in need of minimal editing. If this is proving difficult,
then I can probably help you. The process is as simple as this: send
me your draft article, I will revise it, and bring it up to the standard
required for your chosen publication.
I offer a speedy and confidential service, tailored to your individual
need, and at reasonable price. Further details of my services and rates
can be found under the Frequently
Asked Questions section (FAQ).
